PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Half Shekel (Silver, 19 mm, 6.47 g, 12 h), CY 109 = 18/17 BC. Laureate head of Melkart to right, lion skin tied around neck. Rev. TYPOY IEPAΣ KAI AΣYΛOY Eagle standing left on prow with palm frond behind; in field to left, PΘ above club; to right, monogram of HPA; between the eagle's legs, 𐤁 (B in Punic). DCA Tyre 820 (S; same dies). HGC 10, 358. RPC I 4699. Nicely toned. Struck from slightly worn dies and with some scratches, otherwise, very fine.
